Quality Control in Radiography
Quality control (QC) is a procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that a manufactured product or performed service adheres to a defined set of requirements of the client or customer. It is an important portion in all production processes, especially in the medical field when one's dealing with the outcomes of a persons health. In the diagnostic imaging department there are many different types of electronic equipment. It is crucial that this equipment meets the proper expectations and requirements of the Healing Arts and Radiation Protection act (HARP) and follow Safety Code 35. Quality control processes are completed periodically throughout the year. Consisting of inspections and tests to ensure the maintenance of correct standards. Essentially the goal is to create and maintain an environment that is both safe and efficient for patients and hospital workers.
